ARTISTS HOLD A INTELLECTUAL POLICY STAKEHOLDERS MEETING

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is in the last phase of preparing the National Intellectual Property Policy. The Policy has been in preparation since 2012. A few days ago artists brought together by Tanzania Musicians Network and Tanzania Film Federation with the help of a grant from Best AC, gathered at the Chichi Hotel in Kinondoni and  spent hours coming up with suggestions for the Copyright section of the Policy. Present at the meeting were leaders and members of all the four Federations of Artists and the Tanzania Musicians Network (TAMUNET), also present were officials from the Ministry  of Industry and Trade. Tanzania Musicians Network will work with Tanzania Film Federation in collecting all the suggestions of the artists together with other Copyright stakeholders and together come up with a workable Copyright policy for presentation to the Government.
