AT LAST GUITARIST SHABANI YOHANA 'WANTED' IS BURIED

Almost to a month since he died, Cloud Yohana Mwanasande better known as Shabani Yohana Wanted has finally been buried at his home village at Kwamgwe, Michungwani Muheza in Tanga region in Tanzania. The burial has brought to an end the journey that began between 12th and 13th September 2017 when Shaban died alone in his room in Gaberone Botswana. Shabani's body was taken by the police until relatives from Tanzania gave legal permission for friends in Botswana to take care of the body. Fellow musicians and friends of Shabani in Botswana decided they had to transport Shabani body back to Tanzania for burial. Through contributions and funds raise by a music concert Shabani's body was transported to Dar es Salaam Tanzania, and arrived early morning on Monday 9th October.
Musicians in Tanzania led by John Kitime and Rashid Pembe formed a commitee to oversee the fund raising for transporting the body from Dar es salaam to Shabani's home village. Kitime was Shabani's band mate since 1987 to 1984, and Pembe had been in the same band as Shabani from 1988 to 1994. Musicians, friends, members of the Whatsapp groups Zama zile and Kavasha, the National Arts Council, CCM Youth wing (UVCCM), were among those who contributed to the funds that made plans for Shabani's burial possible.
I want to take this opportunity convey sincerely thanks from Shabani's relatives and friends to all those in Botswana who made it possible for Shabani body to be brought home to be buried very near  his mother's grave. The relatives have also conveyed deep thanks to all those in Tanzania who made the burial possible.
Below are pictures of various events that took place.
